Young Women for
a Brighter Future!

Join us as a Mentor!

We’re excited to announce the expansion of our Young Warrior Program, and we invite passionate, committed women to join us in making a profound impact on the lives of young women in 2025.

Our programs will now run in SYDNEY, and, for the first time, NEWCASTLE, providing even more opportunities to mentor and empower the next generation of strong women.

These programs are built on our commitment to nurturing the growth and potential of young women across diverse communities. As a Mentor, you’ll have the chance to share your knowledge, offer valuable guidance, and help shape the futures of these young warriors as they work toward overcoming challenges and achieving their goals.

2025 Mentor Information nights

We warmly invite both new and returning Mentors to join us for an upcoming Mentor Information Night!

These nights are a wonderful chance to learn more about our mission and how we’re making a difference in the lives of vulnerable young women. You’ll gain insights into what it means to be a Mentor with us, explore the essential role you play in supporting and empowering young women, and hear about the positive impact mentorship can have. We’ll also provide time for you to ask questions.

The Information Nights will be hosted on the dates below.

Young Warrior Woman Program

Our flagship program, the Young Warrior Woman Program is a mentoring and psycho-educational program which provides connection, life skills education, and mental health support. Based on the Self Determination Theory, the Young Warrior Woman Program is designed to foster autonomy and financial independence.

Together, the Mentors and Mentees attend an intensive and structured six-month program consisting of weekly life skills education workshops and transformative presentations by inspirational speakers who have overcome personal adversity.

“My Mentor has been an incredible source of support and guidance throughout my journey. She’s helped me see my strengths, even when I couldn’t, and has been there every step of the way as I work towards my goals. The connection we’ve built has given me the confidence to tackle challenges, and her life experience has provided me with valuable insights I wouldn’t have had on my own. I feel empowered knowing I have someone in my corner who believes in me and is genuinely invested in my growth.”

We provide a safe and welcoming space for young women to share, learn, heal and grow. Each young woman is connected with a mentor as well as a network of diverse community-minded women who provide ongoing support and share their life experiences, resources and opportunities:

  • Connection to a safe, stable, and socially inclusive network of female role models to turn to for advice and ongoing support for the duration of the six-month program.
  • Connection to a non-judgmental group of young women who are facing similar challenges.
  • Connection to Kindred Warrior Peers, young women who have experienced challenges in life and have gone on to achieve life success.
  • Weekly one-to-one mentoring sessions with a safe mentor.

We teach young women the life skills they need to succeed in everyday life. Our “teach a young woman to fish” approach gives them support and guidance at every step, knowing that true empowerment comes from them learning to do things for themselves. In particular, we focus on financial literacy and job readiness:

  • Life-skills workshops to build self-reliance.
  • A six-week Financial Literacy program (in partnership with MoneyGirl).
  • A four-week Job Readiness program.
  • Assistance in gaining and retaining meaningful employment.
  • Access to a range of vocational skills scholarships (e.g., Code Like a Girl) and internships.

Many young women experience trauma which negatively impacts their confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. We support and nurture the trauma healing process in safe psycho-educational workshops facilitated by experts. In these sessions, young women learn to engage with self-compassion, and to soften and contain threat-based emotions, such as fear and anxiety, anger, shame and self-criticism.
