Dr Paulette maroun (MBBS FRANZCOG)

Director

Paulette Maroun has over 20 years’ experience and is one of Sydney’s highly regarded gynaecologists and minimally invasive endoscopic surgeons. This reputation stems from her medical acumen, and from a genuine interest in her patients and an empathetic bedside manner. Paulette’s goal is to provide patients with up to date conventional gynaecological investigations and treatment. She is passionate about her patients getting assistance from experienced complimentary practitioners wherever suitable for optimum results.

Paulette was a presenter at the RACGP: Integrative approaches to Women’s Health, which was a workshop created to help and educate GPs on how to provide women with the best available evidence-based therapy for patients and to make informed decisions regarding their treatment. She was also a fellow in research and published a paper on the relationship between irritable bowel syndrome and endometriosis. She then presented the results of the research both nationally and internationally and won an award for her presentations. She is passionate about the research into the role of complementary treatment of early cervical dysplasia and HPV.

In private practice, Paulette became aware of the gap between conventional and complimentary paradigms which alienated some women from conventional management. This led to self-made diagnoses, unsafe practices and delayed or missed serious diagnoses. Paulette’s s mission to bridge this gap inspired her to create the Paradigm & Co. in 2017. This specialist medical collective is a multidisciplinary specialised women’s health practice, that utilises a wide range of therapeutic approaches in a supportive, individualised, and evidence-based way.

Paulette has completed a diverse range of personal development programs including Positive Psychology at the Whole Being Institute, Mindful Wisdom and Sustainable Happiness at the School of Practical Philosophy. Passionate about empowering and advancing young, marginalised women, Paulette has a long history of giving back to the Australian community in various charity volunteer roles. Since 2005-current, Paulette has been actively involved in Life Changing Experiences Foundation’s SISTER2sister mentoring program as a long-time mentor and regular sexual health educator.

In 2020, Paulette was appointed Director of the Warrior Woman Foundation. Her extensive knowledge in health and wellbeing, and business leadership bring an incredible skillset to The Warrior Woman Foundation board. Paulette joins a strong network of passionate like-minded women, who are working together to identify and create ways to support and advance the young women of Australia who are our future.

We provide a safe and welcoming space for young women to share, learn, heal and grow. Each young woman is connected with a mentor as well as a network of diverse community-minded women who provide ongoing support and share their life experiences, resources and opportunities:

  • Connection to a safe, stable, and socially inclusive network of female role models to turn to for advice and ongoing support for the duration of the six-month program.
  • Connection to a non-judgmental group of young women who are facing similar challenges.
  • Connection to Kindred Warrior Peers, young women who have experienced challenges in life and have gone on to achieve life success.
  • Weekly one-to-one mentoring sessions with a safe mentor.

We teach young women the life skills they need to succeed in everyday life. Our “teach a young woman to fish” approach gives them support and guidance at every step, knowing that true empowerment comes from them learning to do things for themselves. In particular, we focus on financial literacy and job readiness:

  • Life-skills workshops to build self-reliance.
  • A six-week Financial Literacy program (in partnership with MoneyGirl).
  • A four-week Job Readiness program.
  • Assistance in gaining and retaining meaningful employment.
  • Access to a range of vocational skills scholarships (e.g., Code Like a Girl) and internships.

Many young women experience trauma which negatively impacts their confidence, self-esteem and self-worth. We support and nurture the trauma healing process in safe psycho-educational workshops facilitated by experts. In these sessions, young women learn to engage with self-compassion, and to soften and contain threat-based emotions, such as fear and anxiety, anger, shame and self-criticism.
